In 2010 my father died from cancer. In 2015 I lost my sister Kathy to lung cancer, and in 2017 I was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer.
By the time I was diagnosed the cancer had spread to my brain, kidney and hip. Treatment has included 2 brain surgeries, 70 plus sessions of radiation, 2 clinical trials, chemotherapy and now immune therapy.
My family has been through a lot, but sometimes I say this is the best thing that ever happened to me. I wouldn’t have made it this far without the support of my family and friends.
For Christmas in 2020 I decided to make replicas of the ducks my father had made as gifts for my kids, relatives and friends. I received a lot of additional requests for these ducks from people who saw them so, I decided to “pay it forward” for all the love, prayers and support I have received during this battle by making them and donating over half the proceeds going to the Chemo Bag Project and Lucy’s Love Bus.
